When Jesus was arrested, beaten and nailed to the cross, the people who did that thought they were doing bad, they never knew they were working according to the plan and the purpose of God. Humanly speaking they did bad, but before Jesus died He said “father forgive them, for they know not what they are doing”. Jesus said they dont know what they are doing and it was confirmed further in 1Corinthians 2:8b “…for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory” Because his death was a needed death to achieve the plan of God. Looking further in to the scriptures, Mathew 26:39 “And he went a little farther and fell on his face and prayed saying O my father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me nevertheless not i will as you will” so while Jesus was praying, he acknowledged that it is the plan and the will of God that He die so that men would live.
Now the death of Jesus has an ultimate purpose which is salvation like we said but the purposeful death has a package and that was already explained by prophet Isaiah long before Jesus Christ was born. Isaiah 53:5 “But he(Jesus) was wounded for our transgression, He (Jesus) was bruised for our iniquites the chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed. There are alot of things that came with purpose of the cross which are benefetial to men, and like its written in that verse he was wounded for our transgressions (disobedience), bruised for our iniquities (wrongful doing) now the peace we hold in our life is upon him and with his stripes we are healed.
So if you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you have accepted salvation, redemption, peace and sound health. This is the purpose of his death on the cross of Calvary. My question today is have you accepted that he died for you and have you genuinely accepted him?
God bless you. #PurposefulDeath #WhatWeNeed #HouseholdOfConscience @sola_isola
